What Are the Different Types of CBD Oil That Exist Today?

Did you know that 33% of all people in the United States alone have used CBD at least once? There’s no doubting that CBD products have been growing more and more in popularity in recent years. However, there is one thing about CBD oil that many people are not aware of: there is no one type of CBD oil.

In fact, there are a few different types of CBD oil and those types have different compositions, potencies, and health benefits. If you don’t know much about CBD oil, you could easily make the mistake of buying the wrong CBD oil for yourself. However, with the help of this article, you can be sure you’ll know what to look for when choosing the best CBD oil.

To start off our conversation, let’s take a closer look at what CBD and CBD oil are.

What Is CBD

CBD’s full name is cannabidiol and it originates from the cannabis and hemp plants. Most CBD comes from hemp plants because hemp plants produce more CBD compared to cannabis plants. Cannabis plants, on the other hand, produce more THC than CBD.

Many people in the cannabis industry know that THC is sought-after because it is psychoactive and can produce a high when consumed. This high can stimulate the feel-good centers in the brain, especially when the best cannabis strains are bought. However, because THC can produce a high and CBD can’t, doesn’t mean that CBD doesn’t have plenty of its own benefits.

People who try CBD often report feeling relaxed once the CBD kicks in. While more scientific studies are required to explore more of CBD’s possible health benefits, some people even claim that CBD can help to reduce pain and inflammation in the body. CBD can even help to reduce seizures, and the FDA has even begun the process of approving certain medications to treat epilepsy with CBD as the active ingredient.

CBD and THC only work because of the endocannabinoid system in the brain. This system consists of receptors that work specifically to bind to cannabinoids such as CBD and THC. These receptors are normally responsible for regulating appetite, memory, thinking, and pain.

When cannabinoids act on these receptors, they produce effects. The effects of CBD, however, can depend on what kind of CBD oil you might be taking.

There are many forms of CBD such as edibles or Cured Nutrition capsules; however, many people opt for CBD oil. We will explore what kind of CBD oils you can find on the CBD oil market next.

The Different Types of CBD Oil

There are three major types of CBD oil: CBD isolate, full-spectrum CBD, and broad-spectrum CBD. We will first discuss CBD isolate since it is unique compared to the latter two. CBD isolate is ideal if you don’t want to consume any THC, such as if you have a drug test coming up.

This is because CBD isolate has no THC in it whatsoever. CBD isolate is a very refined and filtered form of CBD. In fact, it is some of the purest CBD that you can possibly buy.

It can come in a crystalline powder form or an oil form. Its filtration process not only removes any traces of THC, but it also removes any plant compounds remaining from the cannabis or hemp plant, such as plant oils and fats. However, some may argue that CBD isolate is not as rich in health benefits as other kinds of CBD because it is lacking those plant compounds.

More research is needed to see if there is really any difference health-wise when comparing CBD isolate to other forms of CBD oil. When consuming CBD isolate, it should not have any distinct flavor or smell.

What Is Broad-Spectrum CBD Oil

If you don’t think CBD isolate might be right for you, there’s always broad-spectrum CBD oil. Broad-spectrum CBD is not as filtered as CBD isolate. Because of this, there is more variation when it comes to its flavors.

This is because some broad-spectrum CBD oil may be mixed with carrier oils such as coconut oil to improve the flavor. Broad-spectrum CBD oil also can contain amounts of cannabinoids other than CBD. However, no THC is involved.

Because broad-spectrum CBD is not filtered as much as CBD isolate, it may also contain plant products such as oils, terpenes, and fats. These plant compounds, especially terpenes, may offer more health benefits as well when consuming CBD oil.

What Is Full-Spectrum CBD Oil

Full-spectrum CBD oil is the least refined of all the CBD oils. It has all the plant compounds that broad-spectrum CBD oils tend to have, but, in contrast, they can also contain THC. The THC in full-spectrum CBD oil, in order to be sold legally, must not exceed 0.3%.

This percentage is not enough to produce a high when consuming full-spectrum CBD oil. However, this little bit of THC may add to the health benefits of this kind of CBD oil. As with broad-spectrum CBD oil, full-spectrum CBD oil also has other cannabinoids to offer.

All three of these CBD oils have a wide variety of uses. These oils can be a great addition to food, taken sublingually, and sometimes even used topically. There’s no limit when it comes to the wonders of CBD oil.
